When you decide that you want to start a business as a nurse … there will be fear and self-doubt.

It’s inevitable!

And if you are anything like me, you’ve probably questioned if you’re even qualified to become an entrepreneur.

Self-doubt is when you lack confidence or feel incapable of doing the things you want to do.

You usually experience self-doubt when you want to accomplish things outside of your comfort zone or experience times of uncertainty

To a certain degree, self-doubt can be healthy. We all experience a bit of imposter syndrome or self-doubt.

However, persistent fear and self-doubt can affect your business, your ability to show up and serve clients, and largely delay your progress toward your goals.

When I started my business, I was worried that I would not make enough money to support myself.

Then, I was worried that I had chosen the wrong time to invest in a mentor to help me make decisions in my business.

I ask myself things like:

Am I making a mistake?

Am I moving too fast?

Will I make enough money to support myself?

What if I have to go back to work as a staff nurse?

These thoughts were paralyzing and exhausting. If I wanted to be successful in business, I knew I needed to work through those thoughts and heal my mind and business of all the fear and doubt I was feeling.

So, in this article, I will discuss 3 things I did to accomplish that.

Ego and Intuition?

“Follow your intuition”

We’ve all heard someone say this and I’ll be the first to tell you … it’s not as easy as it sounds.

That’s because your intuition isn’t the only voice talking to you. Your Ego is talking too.

The ego is loud, disruptive, and is usually the dominant narrative in your mind. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between the two.

Your ego sides with your unhealed trauma – it wants to protect you.

Because of its protective nature, it usually sounds like a negative nancy.

Intuition on the other hand is more subtle, it’s a feeling, a moment of clarity, and is more loving.

Your intuition sides with the highest version of you – it’s your knowingness.

Learning to distinguish these two voices will help you gain the confidence and clarity that you need to make the best decisions and choices in your life and business.

God, Spirit Angels, and Guides

I have chosen to rely heavily on my spirituality in my business.

Because of this, I know that I am not alone in this journey. In so many ways, starting my business has taught me how to walk and rely on God with unwavering faith.

I feel that God and my spirit guides are constantly guiding me, and will come to my assistance as long as I ask.

So when I started feeling fearful and full of doubt about my business, I pray.

I ask God for clarity, to ease any fear or doubt in my business, and to give me the confidence that I need to show up and serve my community.

The key is, you must ask for his help.

No Low Vibes

Sometimes the people you surround yourselves with can cause you to be in a low vibrational state.

Being around people who are talking negatively about themselves and/or others people can transfer a lot of negative energy onto you.

I started to become more aware of my surroundings.

I took inventory of who I was spending my time with, what I was watching on TV, the music I was listening to, and who I listened to for advice or feedback. I realized that I needed to set healthy boundaries and let go of some things in my life.

Doing this opened me up to attracting a more supportive tribe that takes pleasure in supporting and building others up. It is very important in business to surround yourself with people who are on the same spiritual walk and journey as you.
